Christmas Day

So its Christmas and I am sick as a dog..watching Romeo Must Die...I do miss Aaliyah, I think I am going to order her album. Anyway my hair has grown and its about an inch long around the front edges. The top and back is maybe 2 to 3 inches. It is kinda dry, I haven't been good regarding wearing the scarf. I bought a satin bonnet but I think its actually sucking whatever moisture out of my hair. : ( I guess I am going to have to invest in some satin pillowcases.
Here is a shot of my hair after I co-washed with Suave Coconut, then used only the Knot Today. that has been my every 3 day regimen. I've gotten compliments and people often want to know if I am going to keep it short. My answer is I dont know...cause in the long run I want big ole puffy curly hair. Right now I got at least 3 different types in it...some 3b,3c and 4a...I just love running my fingers through and finding those lil ringlets...those are the ones that feel really moist. Its those darn straight pieces that are dry.

Kinky Curly

Yeah, I know I haven't posted in a lil while, but I've become obsessed with my hair. lol
I went to Ricky's in NYC to get the KCCC and Knot Today and while there I saw they had a whole lil section of the natural hair products. It was KCCC, Blended Beauty, Miss Jessie's, Mixed Chicks...I was in heaven. And the Miss Jessie's was buy one get one...for some reason I thought the deal would only be thru them.
Anyhoo...the first time I applied it, I used too much. For some reason I think I still have a lot of hair...so less is more. Especially after my hair got all hard. I decided to only use the Knot Today so i can see how it works out and (((drum roll))) I love it. My hair holds the moisture, it has sheen and it curls up nice. I've gotten compliments from family and at work.
I'm going to go back to get me Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding and the Buttercreme..and will review.

new pics

I took pictures at my job on Thursday and when I looked at them later, I was so surprised how much my hair has grown out since the BC...that is like 3 weeks ago. I am so convinced that this was the right thing to do, if I didnt know before I know now.
Tomorrow, I'm going to venture out to the city and get the Kinky Curly and the Knot today from Rickys - - I had to call 4 different stores, because they were out of either the custard or knot today. So its a popular product to say the least. I am so excited about it.
So tomorrow I will give my own lil review, lol.
I colored it like 2 weeks ago, so its a medium golden blonde, Garnier Nutrisse#83. I used to rock the Nice and Easy 103... but that was lifetimes ago.
I'm debating about coloring it again though, bc the not trying to do whole chemical thing, but I got so many compliments about it. Many people actually thought it was my natural hair color...well when i was a kid it was.

Cantu Shea Butter Leave In

I've read multiple blogs where the praise the Cantu. Since this was sold at Target and only like $7.99, I decided to try it. I am all about the bargain w/o spending $100 in products. I washed my hair with the Carol's Daughter Sea Moss Shampoo (great peppermint smell and tingling), then while wet I put a small amount and and then fingercombed it thru. I then followed up with the Garnier Curl Shaping Gel.
Later on during the day, my hair flaked a little, more around my edges. That I no likey especially since I had on a green blouse that apprently showed a flake or two.
I thought it turned out overall good. Perhaps 3 1/2 stars out of 5. I'm trying to find that stuff that WOWs me. I so need that moisturer w/o turning to look like I got Soul Glo in my hair.
I'm going to get the Kinky Curly perhaps by the weekend.

Only 2 weeks

last week i lightened my hair...i used Garnier Fruitis Color #83, its supposed to be a Golden Blonde of some sorts and since I haven't used colors in like 2 or 3 years ,I was a bit unsure. I used to rock that golden blonde previously. So it came out ok, I think...but after the first wash, I'm liking it. I didnt use a henna bc I dont want it darker or with a red tint bc the skin tone...no likey red next to its pink self. LOL
When i was washing it, the curls just curled up big, I was love feeling it and curling it with my fingers. I felt like Gmoney from New Jack City. Im loving it more and more. Im going to take pictures soon and post.
I've gotten compliments for my hair from relatives who didnt see it when I cut it, and it got me running my hands through my lil curls. Now Im debating whether I want to keep it cut a lil longer or let it grow out. I just dont know yet.

BC

I did the first BC on 11/7/08...and the poor lady was so scared, she was shooked. Too scare to actually cut my hair no matter how much I assured her that it was ok. It turned out looking a hot mess. lol
I tried to wash it and style it some...but it still was horrible. I almost was regretting it and wished for my instant weave/half wig. So I spoke to one of my good friends who previously did it a couple of years ago. She suggested I go to the barber shop, who would understand. Since I had to take Sean to the barber anyway, I was going to do it then.
I met a great barber there who knew exactly what I wanted and understood bc her too was a natural hair convert.
By the end, I was ECSTATIC, a lil unsure at first but that lasted only about 5 seconds...it looked so good.
